Where is the Thank You??

Ex-Iraqi PM accuses US of leaving job unfinished

Iyad Allawi — a former prime minister who leads the Sunni-backed Iraqiya bloc — claimed the United States had pulled out its troops “without completing the job they should have finished.”

This is a great example of what I have been talking about for quite some time. Appreciation, gratitude and the lack of it. We cut off both of our arms for these people and now they want our legs too.

It is no secret except to the politicians in DC that the vast majority of the Iraq’s people, the people in Afghanistan as well as the rest of the Arab countries despise the Americans and cannot even fathom the financial and human sacrifices the USA has made for their countries. Not our country, their country. They expect it, don’t appreciate it, it didn’t cost them a dime and really think they have it coming.

Instead of the USA footing the bill for these wars, we should have been paid in gold to protect these people and for trying to bring them out of the dark ages.

For years the USA has gone around the world; in most cases sticking our nose where it does not belong trying to reform countries that have been killing each other in the name of god. They have not changed their way of life for 1,000’s of years and have no intention of doing so. So why are we there?

These are the people that kill their daughters for kissing someone, won’t let the female population get an education or drive a car and have such little regard human rights.

If the outcome of all of our endeavors were successful after all the sacrifices we made, quite possibly the attitude of the American people like myself may be different. I cannot remember any wars that we have been in in recent times that we came out victorious including Iraq.

In most cases; of the countries we tried to reform, they were as bad off or in worse condition after we made our “strategic withdrawal” than before we invaded them. For those who are unfamiliar with the term strategic withdrawal, it means when you lose.

Anyone that believes Iraq was a victory, let them tell that to all the men and women that fought there and came home with missing body parts or to the families who’s loved ones came home in body bags or did not come home at all.

One of many example of not going where we don’t belong is Vietnam. In the 14 long years the USA tried to turn the country into a democracy it cost our country 58,280 lives. That would be like killing the entire population of Hidalgo County in Southern Texas.

Than came the monetary losses of $ 528,000,000,000. That is a lot of zeros. Not to mention the billions of dollars of supplies and equipment that was left abandon in place at the side of the roads as the USA left the country like a whipped puppy.

The French were in Vietnam for 11 years before the USA and got their asses kick pretty good but could not turn things around. Our government was not smart enough the see what happened to Pierre and the troops. We tried to be the Knight in shining armor and consequently took a worse shellacking than they did.

It makes a person wonder if most of these wars were started just to make money. The numbers are staggering.

Halliburton for an example was awarded $ 7,000,000,000 in non-competitive bid contracts at one time during the Iraq war and that was only the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, this is the company that Dick Cheney was CEO of. When Cheney gave up his job at Halliburton to become Vice-President he was awarded a $ 38,000,000 severance package and then a $ 398,548 bonus a few years later. I wonder what the bonus was for. It sure wasn’t the “good looks” award. That was a hell of a going away present or was it a “I will see you later present”?

Now that the USA has pulled out of Iraq because the election 2012 is right around the corner and for of some political posturing the O-Bomb-O administration is conducting, some of the citizens of Iraq claim that the United States “did not complete their mission” in their country. Where is the thank you and where were they for the last 9 years?

I said it before and I will say it again. “Don’t go where you don’t belong” – “clean up your own house before looking at someone else’s” – “charity begins at home”. I don’t know what is so hard for our leaders to comprehend these couple of facts of life.

If the USA hasn’t learned by now that ALL of what we do for other countries is not appreciated they never will. We are just suckers to the rest of the world. Even the people we are trying to protect can’t figure out why the USA extends itself the way it does.

From what I understand there were no Iraq dignitaries at the closing ceremony when the last troops pulled out. Another slap in the face or stab in the back.

WAKE UP WASHINGTON – Take care of your own first!!!!
