With all the bad news throughout the world I thought it would be nice during the holiday season to pass along some good news from The Goomba Gazette.
YELM, Wash. — If Scamp the dog was living up to his name by playing a trick on his owners, a grandmother in Washington isn’t laughing.
Reta McKinlay thought her grandchildren’s puppy died after it escaped through a fence at her Yelm home and was hit by a car. The terrier-Shih Tzu mix was bleeding, his eyes fixed. He wasn’t breathing.
Reta heart was broken over the demise of the disobedient dasher but granny was prepared to do what she had to do and send Fido to the big bone yard in the sky. Scampo (he is an Italian dog) had a surprise for Grandma Mc Kinlay.
Old Reta had a cardboard box all made up sitting in the corner of the kitchen ready to put the pooch into his permanent pouch.
Scampo was lying in the opposite corner holding his breath wanting his owner to feel sorry for him. When he saw the missis putting his favorite blanket in the box and drape it over the sides his tail got as stiff as an Eskimo’s pene that was pissing outside of his igloo.
Soon after the old lady went to bed still thinking that Scampilino had croaked. He was still playing dead.
When granny got up the next morning she immedately went to the garage and got a long handled shovel ready to play grave digger. Much to her surprise when she entered the kitchen Scampalouchi was sitting up in his would be coffin smiling from ear to ear.
Reta was so happy and dumbfounded she ran over to the pooch, gave him a big wet kiss right on his lips.
She told Scampadino that she was so happy he was still able to chase cars she was going to make him some Italian sausage and a frittata for breakfast.
Quicker then you can say “dead dog” Scampatino jump up on a chair and put his paws on the table waiting for his feast.
The moral of the story for the rest of the furry car chasers on the planet is, “if you want to have Italian sausage and a frittata for breakfast, go get hit by a car and play dead”.
Good news for the week. Buon Natale
