Troops Get Holiday Homecoming:
FORT HOOD, Texas – Soldiers in the last U.S. combat brigade to leave Iraq have arrived home in time for Christmas.
Nearly 200 soldiers arrived at Fort Hood on Saturday, while others arrived earlier in the week. The drizzling rain and chilling wind didn’t dampen the excitement of relatives who had waited two hours, some wrapped in blankets and holding signs decorated with ornaments and candy canes.
This is probably the best Christmas in 10 years for the military personnel that served in Iraq and their families.
Lots of tears, hugs and squeezes for all of the men and women coming home that fought for their country with honor and dignity.
We should all salute them as American heroes.
The government must see to it that all of them are well taken care of. They should all be reinstated with the jobs they had before they went to fight for their country and more importantly; be certain that all of their medical issues are taken care of for the rest of their lives. They put their lives on the line for the USA and now it is their turn to be compensated with good health care.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the servicemen and women that make the USA the safest place on earth to live.
If you happen to see one of our heroes, look them in the eyes, smile at them and say “thanks for serving”! That is the least we can do.
