GSA deputy pleaded guilty to embezzlement months before Vegas bash:
It never ceases to amaze me. When one scandal surfaces, 10 more pop up. There seems to be no end of the corruption in government at all levels. These news items are just the ones we know about and the people that got caught. I am sure they are just skimming the surface.
Some of the GSA people are not only party animals, they are thieves as well.
Daniel Voll pleaded guilty to defrauding the government of roughly $61,000 in 2010.
This dude used his government credit card for personal trips to lavish hotels and spas as well as wining and dining to his little hearts content. After the thief got caught and plead guilty he offered to pay back what he had stolen. I think that was very big of him. What about the interest?
Give credit where it is due. One thing you have to give these guys; they go first class when they are spending someone else’s money. While in San Francisco Danny stayed at the W and the St. Regis San Francisco. Nice.
Voll’s tab at the W was $ 2,56.95 in food and beverage charges. Voll and a companion, I hope it was his wife, dined on foie gras, duck, and sole, then topped off the meal with sorbet and cappuccino.
The tab at St. Regis was even higher, it was $2,641.26. Voll and his escorts were so stressed out over how hard it was to steal from the government they had to get a massage to relax themselves, at the reasonable rate of $ 390.00. I guess any rate is reasonable if it’s not your money.
Guys like Voll throw around the tax payer’s money like it Monopoly money. I hope they pass go and land in jail.
On the legitimate business side of the issue, whatever happened to a Red Roof Inn or a Holiday Inn Express where a person could stay for a month at these rates.
I don’t know who is watching the store in “The District” but there are a lot of people walking out without paying.
