Spirit Airlines offers no discount for military, unlike most U.S. carriers:
Where is their spirit? They don’t have any.
Most of the airlines give free baggage and other discounts to veterans.
Spirit Airlines does not give any perks to the guys that have put their lives on the line so they can stay in business and live in freedom.
Jerry Meekins a Marine veteran that is dying for throat cancer wanted to get a refund from the “Scrooges’ of the airlines” because he was unable to take a flight that he had booked before his terminal diagnosis.
Meekins wanted to go see his daughter that was going to undergo an operation. He called the airline numerous times attempting to get a refund because of his health issues. The airline denied his request with each call.
One of the brain surgeons that work at Spirit offer the former Marine a discounted refund or a “rain check” on the price of his ticket purchase.
Meekins answer to the inept agent was “I don’t think I will be around in the future to use the rain check”.
As a consequence of the greedy, un-American, non-patriotic company, Meekins was forced to drive two days to see his daughter before her operation. It is a pretty tough drive for a man dying of cancer.
I think a fitting end to this tale of greed is for everyone to boycott this so called American airliner.
Let us ban together and show the airline that Americans do have the spirit and Spirit does not. They should be ashamed of themselves,
Semper Fi Jerry; thanks for your service
