Gays on military bases

House panel votes to ban same-sex marriages on US military bases:

WASHINGTON – On the same day that President Barack Obama declared his support for same-sex marriage, the House Armed Services Committee backed measures prohibiting the practice on U.S. military bases.

This society of ours is “going to hell in a hand basket” and picking up speed every day. To even to consider that gay couples be allowed practice their life styles on military bases is outrageous. All of these ultra-liberals and issues are chipping away at our moral fiber. Today it is your finger, tomorrow your arm and eventually it is the whole body.

One of the pertinent considerations in this matter is that the vast majority of the people making these decisions, including the president, have never served in the military. I can almost guarantee that if it was solely up to the military high command and not pressure coming from the “civilian population” there would be no gay people at all allowed to serve.

I commend the HSAC for their decision, not allowing gay couples to house themselves or get married on military bases. I don’t believe that gay couples should be able to intermingle at all in public while in the military.

Unless someone has served in the military they have no idea just how close the troops are billeted. Everyone in the barracks is inches away from the next person.

There is nothing that would be more disgusting than to look over in a bunk and see two guys having sex with one another. I am sure it happens.

I am not a homophobic person. I believe that the “legitimate gay people” that are born gay have all the rights they are entitled to. What I do have a problem with is the people that are born heterosexual but chose the gay life style because it is a fashionable. Then we have the switch hitters that can’t make up their mind. Either you are born gay or you weren’t.

Gay people should be obligated to serve in the military but they should conduct themselves in the proper manner, just as every other military person is expected to,  when they are on base or in a military situation. What they do when they are on their own time and cannot be connected with the military is strictly their business.
