Panetta to Pakistan: Don’t ‘Gouge’ Us:
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Sunday that the United States is not about to “get gouged” by Pakistan — which despite having received billions in U.S. aid is demanding $5,000 for every truck that carries supplies into Afghanistan a cross its border.
Mr. Panetta; I applaud you for your “attempted” stand with Pakistan on penalizing them for the supplies they are sending the Afghanistan’s. Nothing is more insulting than when someone spitting in your face.
Don’t be like the parents that continually threaten their kids with disciplinary action for misbehaving and never do anything about it. Before you know it the kid is laughing at them.
On the streets this is called “selling wolf tickets”. The wolf barks as loud as he can to try and scare people but he never bites them. Start biting back.
As I have said many times; the world is laughing at the USA. Lets start holding our heads up high again and act like the super power we are supposed to be.
What is to prevent the USA from following through with your recommendation? Nothing.
The politicians in DC just cut 1/3 of the aid that Pakistan was getting from us from incarcerating that doctor that help us locate Osama Bin-deaden. Cut all the aid off completely, just don’t talk about it. We should not be giving Pakistan or any other country aid with the condition our country is in.
We have nothing to lose but a whole lot to gain.
