Serpent-handling pastor profiled earlier in Washington Post dies from rattlesnake bite:
I guess that the Revs never heard of the old cliche “if you live by the snake you die by the snake”.
Mark Randall “Mack” Wolford was known all over Appalachia as a daring man of conviction. He believed that the Bible mandates that Christians handle serpents to test their faith in God — and that, if they are bitten, they trust in God alone to heal them.
His father who also was a snake handling preacher died in 1983 under the same circumstances; Mack was 15 years old.
As fate would have it Mark met the same demise as his dad 10.5 hours after the rattle snake serpent chomped into his thigh.
Revs Mark was a true believer and died doing what he loved best; spreading the word of god through his unorthodox methods.
The only State the snake worshiping legal is West Virginia.
