Bradley-Pacquiao decision leaves boxing reeling:

LAS VEGAS – The outrage over the split-decision upset victory for Timothy Bradley against champion Manny Pacquiao reached a fever pitch Sunday, with many in the boxing world seeking reform in the judging system and promoter Bob Arum calling for an outside investigation.

Fights like this one are what has given boxing the well-deserved “bad name”. For at least 100 years or more the fight game has been under the micro-scope for fixing fights, taking dives, throwing fights by the guys with their collars up, so a rematch could be generated.

I will guarantee that Pacquiao and Bradley will have a rematch and the same people that paid to watch it at the arena or on pay per view this time will cough up again.

Most of the guys in the fight game have busted their ass and their noses to try and make a name for themselves and a good living. Hiding behind the corners in the shadows are their low life agents and promoters that literally  fleece these guys out of every penny they make.

Take Mike Tyson for example. It has been estimated that he made upward of nine hundred million dollars ($ 900,000,000.00) in his boxing career but when all the dust settled all his left in his hand was his che si chiama and a few pigeons on the roof.

As long as Mike was under the guidance of  Cus D’Amato he was walking the straight and narrow. When the old man went to the big boxing ring in the sky and  I saw that his agent/promoter was the spiked hair jail bird from Cleveland, Donald King, I knew someday that kid would be broke.

Let’s be realistic; is it really worth what they pay some of these guys to fight? Manny Pacquiao made $ 67,000,000.00 between 2011 and 2012. His end after it is all chopped up, just guessing,  will probably be about $ 10,000,000.00 at the most. That is not chump change either.

The saddest part of the whole scenario is that most of the pugs are broke when they quit the game. From what I see of Pacquiao it seems he is a little sharper than most. He is talking about running for president in the Philippines at some point.

These costly  entourages/ hangeroners got these guys sucked in to the point they really believe that all of these bums that carry their capes into the ring are friends’ of theirs. Eventually the boxers start going downhill either from losses or very few from old age. When that happens; all of a sudden their social circle resembles ground zero in Hiroshima.

To put the icing on the cake; many of the prize fighters have been nailed so many times in the head; most of them have scrambled eggs  for brains.  Look at what happened with the “rope a dope”.   Ali and Joe Fraser are perfect examples of what happens when a person get their bell rung too many times.

Fight fans keep bitching and complaining about the decisions in the ring but the most diehard fans keep going back for more.

We can almost put prize fighting and politics on the same plateau. Wherever there are big bucks floating around there are always going to be the seedy scam artists trying to nip at the purse.

Personally I would not pay ten cents to watch a professional boxing match on TV. It is a total rip off. In many cases the winner has been anointed even before he steps into the ring. It is not as bad as but is coming in a close second to big time wrestling. The only difference is; big time wrestling comes right out and tells it’s fans that the fights are fixed.

On the other side of the coin so far; of all of the UFC fights I have watched and it has been hundreds, I can only remember one match that I thought was a little questionable with its decision.

As long as Dana White and his Italian bosses the Fertitta brothers can keep their game clean and away from the Gutter Rats they will be in good shape. By the way. Joe Rogan; start shaving before you go in TV.

Always beware of that knock on the dressing room door; it may be the fix-it guy.

Tell him you already called the Personal Plumber. If he does the same; it will be the last time he will ever have to call a repairman again – coming soon
