(CNN) — It’s not surprising that at a town meeting this week, Middleborough, Massachusetts, voted 183-50 to impose a $20 fine for swearing in public. Who’s not for civic virtue? Enough is enough. And so on. Plus the ban doesn’t apply to what people do “in private.”
I like to think of swear words as adjectives and a means of expressions.
Are these people that live near Boostin f—ink nuts trying to put a stop on our freedom of expression? Swearing has become a way of life in the USA giving a person the means to articulate their feelings and to let off steam.
What the f—k is the matter with those guys in Assachusetts. I would rather have a guy swear at me then throw a brick through my windshield.
If there was 20.00 fine imposed for swearing on the guys in the neighborhood I grew up in; over half of them would be bankrupt by now and that includes me.
I will agree that a little more discretion should be used and swear sometimes gets out of hand or used in the wrong places, like around kids and in church. A little more prudence can be used in those situations. After all; we have to set a good example for the kiddies.
So for all you potty mouths out there; “Watch your fu—in mouth” when you are around kids and in church, it doesn’t look or sound good.
“Get them Sonny”!
