Rolling the bones

GOP backer, casino mogul Adelson reportedly gave $10 M to Koch brothers’ efforts:

Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson has donated $10 million to the Koch brothers’ efforts to elect Republicans and oust President Obama and other Democrats — forging perhaps the most powerful, well-financed political fundraising machine of 2012.

It seems that Romney has his own Super PAC going on. High rollers are coming out of the woodwork trying dethrone Obama. Maybe Obama and Holder can find a political loop hole somewhere and work around it.

By the time November rolls around it is estimated that the “Elephants” will have raised over 800 million dollars plus for the Romney cause. There must be some serious hatred going on out there to put that much on the crap tables.

How can anyone justify spending that kind of money for a campaign by either side for a job that pays $400, 000.00 plus $150,000.00 for expenses? It must have something to do with the perks when they retire.

You figure this one out; use your imagination. The winner walks away clean without owing a penny but the loser has to pay back a good portion of the purse. When Newt Gingrich dropped out of the race he had a tab of 4.3 million dollars he owed supporters.

I know these political prevaricators are mainly in the race for egotistical purposes. Why would anyone with a half a brain want to take on this impossible task like the presidency? Maybe that is why the pickings are so sparse.

It was like Nelson Rockefeller who served as VP in 1974. Does a guy with a last name like Rockefeller need those kinds of headaches? He, along with the majority of the other self-centered people want their names to go into the history books as doing something spectacular while they were on this planet.
Nelson didn’t need the money. When he died the family fortune was worth 8 billion dollars. With what he made as VP couldn’t buy the matches to light his cigars.

What can a billion dollars buy?

83,333,333 large peperoni pizzas with three toppings
14,285 Escalades – w/vidoe players and TV
1,587,301 bottles of Chateau Haut-Brion
13,333,333,333 nights at a Holiday Inn – breakfast included
6,666 – $150,000 homes w/air conditioning
400,000,000 Big Macs – fries are extra
666,666,666 – Large chocolate shakes at Burger King

With the combined money Obama and Romney are spending on their causes, they could probably get all of the homeless people off the streets in the USA and get them all jobs as disc-jockeys.

What else:

http://aworldofprogress.com/blog/2011/what-could-you-buy-with-a-billion-dollars

One Maybach Landaulet for $1 million to drive around in – 10 miles to the gallon
One $100 million yacht to get seasick on – you can puke in a solid gold sink
One Gulfstream G550 private jet for $40 million to carry around you harem
One private island for $24.5 million (castle included) for a hideaway
One $8 million estate to throw more fund raisers
One $5 million watch that loses three minutes in 12 years

Total: $178.5 million

Still having $821.5 million left over.

So between Obama and Romney they are going to spend over 2 billion dollars campaigning for the presidency. Regardless of who wins the election it is going to take a lot of heavy duty favors to pay back all of those rubles. These donators don’t come up with that kind of soldi without expecting a very healthy return on their investment. Even if they have an ugly relative; someone will find them a job somewhere.

As bad as the political climate is and our choices are so limited; we certainly can’t continue down this roadway of disaster. The highway is caving in around us.

Keep shelling out the big bucks guys. I hope you don’t crap out.
