If it looks like a tax and smells like a tax it must be a tax!
Chief Justice Roberts: The decider
The chief justice pointedly wrote that the court did not pass judgment on the wisdom of the law, only its constitutionality.
As ridiculous as it sounds, Roberts didn’t see much wisdom in the law that he voted for.
The White House argued on Friday that the individual mandate at the heart of Obamacare is a penalty, not a tax, contradicting the Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling a day earlier upholding the historic health care law “It’s a penalty, because you have a choice. You don’t have a choice to pay your taxes”.
Chief Justice Roberts wanted to go into the history books as “the one that did it”.
From the very beginning Roberts was against this Obamination but for some unknown reason that only a politician would understand he changed his mind and swam up stream with the other salmon right into the mouth of this bear of a law.
Roberts decision was based on the fact that it is a tax, that is why the court could vote on it. After the gavel was slammed in favor of the prez, the Obama camp, trying to save face claims that it is not a tax; because the good prez promised way back when that he would not raise taxes.
I wonder if the supreme court knew that upfront if their decision would have been different?
Now it is either a tax or not a tax. What is it? For starters it is a law that will be paid for by tax payer’s money. In my opinion that constitutes a tax.
By the time the plan is implemented the cost of the Obmanation tax will have tripled. Over the next ten ears this tax is going to cost the taxpayers $1.76 Trillion. That is today estimate. Take a look at any situation the government had their hands in and use that as a barometer. It has be go to 5 times that amount.
Twenty years ago we taking in terms of the “M” word – then we went to the “B” word – now we are at the unenviable position of talking in the “T” word.
By the time this plan is put into full swing we may have to sell Alaska back to the Russians to raise a few dollars. We bought it at bargain basement price of $ 7,200,000.00. I wonder if Putin is willing to give us the going 2012 rate? It may be lower than what we paid for it based on today’s real-estate prices.
If for no other reasons; the outrageous cost of this unhealthy care plan that many Americans do not want, some can’t afford and the ones that refuse to get it will be penalized and fined. Now to me that sounds unconstitutional. That is like trying to force feed a kid liver.
Needless to say, when this plan begins to cost the medical community bushels of money, guess who the costs are going to be passed on to. Oh yes, the taxpayer. I am sure that they are sharpening their scalpels already.
Does the plan have some good features like not being able to deny preexisting conditions? Yes, but is the overall financial burden it is going to put on the country worth it? No.
So let me get this right because sometime I don’t absorbed political issues quickly. The reason the justices passed this bill is because it is a tax. To save face Obama is contradicting them and saying it is not a tax. The tax payers are going to be the ones that pay this tax that is not a tax but it really is a tax.
Just one more example of the s—t running down hill and the taxpayers that are paying the tax that is not a tax are on the bottom of the tax hill.
A reminder to the American voters. What is the 11th commandment? “Thou shall not bullshit the people that put you in office”.
I am really taxed after writing this one. I think I will go the sick bay to see if they will treat a preexisting condition.
I better call ahead and make sure that someone is manning their post. After all it is a government facility.
