The rise and maybe the fall of a once great nation:
Last night I watched the Macy’s Day fireworks as well as a few other spectacular displays of Americas pride, power and patriotism and a demonstration of what once made America a great super power; its people banding together.
It is a real shame that only under certain conditions and circumstances such as after a terrorists attack, natural disasters, and maybe some special holidays we celebrate do the citizens of this country band together and look and act like Americans should.
Our country had and still has more potential than any other country on the planet for greatness but through the years of complacency, laziness, corruption, greed, getting into wars that we don’t belong in and a multitude of other foolish endeavors have we started down the road to self-destruction.
At this point and time the USA is about half way down the self-destruction hill and gaining speed rapidly. If we don’t put on the brakes and stop our decline we are going to wind up just like the Roman Empire and a lot of others powerful countries did that through history said “we were too big, invincible and it can’t happen to us”. No country or no person is too big; they just think they are.
The rest was history ladies and gents. Read your history books and see how the law of gravity effects people, societies and civilizations that think they are indestructible.
The citizens of The United States of America approval rate of the congress. has averaged 14% so far in 2012. To clarify this a little more; 86 out of every 100 of the American people think that congress is doing a substandard job of running this country. These are the people we elected to make sure they ran our country the way it should be. For Obama the rate is between 48 -50%. I really think that both of those numbers are high based on current conditions in this country.
All a person has to do is to look at the unemployment rate, the conditions of our infrastructures, housing markets, the Obamanation health care plan, the wars we don’t belong in and many other social and national issues and tell me how the leaders of this country approval rates can be that high or maybe they are one of the ill-informed that think our leaders are doing a great job.
Not even mention the nation debt that the United States has which is US: $15,724,907,364,995 – Debt as of June 2012. Personally I think at the rate we are going and the lack of interest our leaders have in the debt, it will ever be paid off. What happens when the countries like China and Japan want their money?
If you want to see something staggering and very scary take a look at this website that shows our national debt in real time. http://www.usdebtclock.org/
How many ostridges do we have in DC that have their heads buried in the sand and are too lazy, ill-informed, incompetent, anti-American, and complacent or all of the above to make the necessary transitions to get the USA back where it was. Look at the approval ratings and I think they speak for themselves.
The vast majority of our representatives in DC are only worried about how much they will get when they retire.
Issues have to be dealt with head on. They have to look the beast in the eyes, grab the bull by the horns and do whatever is necessary to turn things around. Problems of the magnitude that we have in this country are not going to fix themselves.
The major problems I see in our country are the lack of jobs. It unemployment rate is 8.5% and can be as high as 15%. Reason being; people that have lost their unemployment benefits are no longer counted as unemployed. Jobs were supposed to be Obama’s main focus 3.5 years ago and all we are getting is the same lip service we heard in 2008.
You would think that Obama and his gang would take a look back in the history books and see how FRD resolved a very similar condition. Maybe Holder thinks it may be illegal.
In 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signs an executive order creating the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The WPA was just one of many Great Depression relief programs created. The WPA, the Public Works Administration (PWA) and other federal assistance programs put unemployed Americans to work in return for temporary financial assistance. Out of the 10 million jobless men in the United States in 1935, 3 million were helped by WPA jobs alone.
While FDR believed in the elementary principles of justice and fairness, he also expressed disdain for doling out welfare to otherwise able workers. So, in return for monetary aid, WPA workers built highways, schools, hospitals, airports and playgrounds. That sounds like a plan to me.
There are no similarities between FRD and Obama especially the fact FRD’s dislike for the welfare state. Whatever happened to people wanting to work for a living. Through the years our country has produced a multitude of people that only want hand-outs.
“Give a man a few fish and he eats for a day; give that same man a fishing rod and he eats for life”.
This decisive and firm action taken by FRD was one of the major factors that brought the USA out of the depression. If anyone does not believe we are headed in that direction, they also have their heads in the sand. Mr. Obama; learn something from history.
Create jobs, put people to work, these people will spend money, these people will pay taxes. Get big industry back into this country. Make it appealing and possible by incentives, sensible regulations and co-operation between government and business so we get back what made our country great; industry.
I would love to see the patriotism I saw last night on the 4th of July as an everyday occurrence in this country. The American people should not have to wait for “an occasion” for us to all pull together.
In November we have to throw out the old trash and hope that the newly elected people do the jobs that they are elected to do. If not ladies and gents this Old USA is in for one rough ride.
If only all the politicians, not just Obama did what they promised as they conned their way into office we would be in a lot better shape.
Let’s cut out the aid to foreign countries. Charity begins at home. If and when the bottom drops out of our country do you think that any of the counties that we have been “bleeding” us for all these years will throw us a life line? Don’t bet on it.
I hope we have not gone off the tipping point yet but it sure does not look promising.
Remember only one thing when you vote. You can tell the measure of a man or women by the promises they have made and the promises they have kept not by the smoke screens they put up.
