He was a good man

George Jefferson’ Actor Sherman Hemsley Dies at 74:

Here is a guy that was a class act. He played his part to the “T” and had all of his viewers waiting anxiously for the next episodes.

Sherman Hemsley, the actor best-known for his role as the candid and outspoken George Jefferson on the hit sitcom “The Jefferson’s” has died at age 74.

Sherman was definitely a solid citizen. His portrayal for George Jefferson the lower class black guy that made it big later in his life when he started a dry cleaning business was a sensational show for many years.

George made light of humor between the races but never really insulted anyone, except his black maid and the bi-racial couple that live up stairs from him.

George’s representation of the relationships between black and white Americans is a prime example of how co-existence between races should be.

Although George did not portray himself as a 100% a racial dove he set a good example of how people can tolerate one another without necessarily liking the other person.

A good man like Sherman Hemsley (AKA George Jefferson) will be missed by his audience as well as his family.

There should be more people like him in the world; it would be a much better place to live in.

Ask Weegie; she will tell you the same thing.
