Breath deep people

USA Today

Tobacco companies profit from loophole, market small cigars:

After decades of progress toward their goal of preventing smoking-related illness and death, public health officials said Thursday that they’re seeing a worrisome new trend: Smokers who switch from high-priced cigarettes to cheaper, but equally dangerous, small cigars.

Let us not forget ladies and gentlemen; these are the same people that sat on Capitol Hill and lied through their teeth that smoking didn’t cause cancer.

These are the same people that were inducing more nicotine into cigarettes to get the smokers more addicted. Would you really expect any different.

There is a rumor going around that these companies only hire X-politicians for their spokes persons. You get the drift. It is all about the dollars.

While the cigarettes companies were compelled to tone down their advertising in the USA they were concentrating their efforts to kill people in Europe and Asia buy the train loads.

Around 6 million people may die each year worldwide staring in in 2010 because of smoking and tobacco related disease, according to the World Health Organization – including over 438,000 Americans, 650,000 Europeans and 1.2 million people in China.

Tobacco use will kill 1 billion people worldwide in the 21st century if current smoking trends continue.

6.6 billion People are on this planet and 1.3 billion are smokers,
1.8 billion Young people aged of 10 to 24 smoke cigarettes, according to the World Health Organization.

* More than 85 percent of these young smokers live in developing countries

One billion men and about 250 million women use tobacco every day around the world, according to a study presented at the 14th World Conference on Tobacco or Health.

There are thought to be 800 million smokers in developing countries and only 1.1 billion smokers worldwide.

More than two thirds of the world’s smokers live in just 10 countries : China – India – Indonesia – Russia –USA – Japan – Brazil – Bangladesh – Germany – Turkey

Big corporations are all the same. Many years ago there was a car company that found a severe defect in one of their models that was killing and injuring a lot of people. It was brought to their attention by one of their employees. After they fired the guy the following actions were taken; do nothing.

The big wigs got together and decided that it would cost about 10 million dollars to remedy the problem in all the cars and for related lawsuits but they could make 60 million by letting a “sleeping dog lie”. So you know the answer. They never fixed the problem; killed and injured a few more peopled but were 50 million ahead.

That is a very sad commentary for corporate America and probably the rest of the worlds big conglomerates but that the way it is; “all about the dollars”.

The biggest dummies in this whole scenario are the smokers. Now a day a person that is really hooked spends almost 100 bucks a week trying to kill themselves. They should just stand in front of a speeding bus; it is a lot cheaper and a lot quicker way to die. I can’t even imagine spending $ 5.00 or more for a pack of “cancer sticks”. I personally know people that will buy their smokes before medication and food.

When you smokers inhale, breath really deep so you get the full effect of all the goodies they put in those tubes of tobacco.
