Man that pavement is hard

Washington Post

Randy Travis and the sad drunk driving arrest:

Travis and  his wife Lib Hatcher divorced on October 29, 2010 after a 19-year marriage, and their business relationship ended thereafter.

It seems that Randy has had his back against the wall ever since he and Lib split up. It takes a good lady to keep a good man in line.

On February 6, 2012 Travis was arrested for public intoxication while sitting in his car at a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas. He paid a fine and was placed on a 90 day probation. The 90-day probation period expires September 23, 2012.

Yesterday, police in Grayson County, Texas responded to a call that a man was lying in the the middle of the road naked and smelling of alcohol. It turns out that Travis crashed his car in a construction zone and when the long arm of the law attempted to apprehend him, Travis threatened the lives of the officers. Usually what drunks do.

Travis was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated and for retaliating against law enforcement officials. He posted bail in the amount of $21,500. Because this incident happened in a different county, his probation was not considered violated.

It’s no wonder so many of these country and western singers go into a depression; look at the names of some of these songs Randy made.

1. “A Little Bitty Crack in Her Heart”
2. “A Little Left of Center”
3. “A Man Ain’t Made of Stone”
4. “The Family Bible and the Farmer’s Almanac
5. “A Heartache in the Works”
6. “No Reason to Change”
7. “Where Can I Surrender”
8. “I’ll Be Right Here Loving You”
9. “Once You’ve Heard the Truth”
10. “In a Heart Like Mine”
11. “Day One”
12. “Thirteen Mile Goodbye”

As far as I am concerned; songs like this would make me want to get drunk, lay in the middle of a street naked and resist arrest.

I hope the good old boy comes around and doesn’t get used to Buba and his crew in the slams; he is a good singer.

He doesn’t look like he is ready to go on tour any time soon. When a person kisses the pavement; the pavement usually kisses back a lot harder.
