Ryan scores lowest poll numbers since Quayle:
Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan scores the lowest initial ratings from Americans of any vice presidential pick since the controversial choice of Dan Quayle nearly a quarter-century ago, a weekend USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.
What are these Republicans thinking? It isn’t bad enough that they had 4 years to come up with a presidential candidate and chose Romney that has a low popularity rating. Now Romney comes up with a guy that may have been his brother in a past life.
I like the guys. They have a good moral fiber and character; what America should stand for. Romney and Ryan are probably two of the most stand up, moralistic, solid citizens in the country but that is not what get votes.
Politics is, if not the highest on the totem pole of the most hypocritical, deceitful occupation in the world. Worse than a used car salesman.
Should it be that way, absolutely not but those are the fact.
What does it takes to get votes? A giant dose of charisma, good looks and a gift of gab and a prevaricator. Tell them what they want to hear.
That is without a doubt one of the most significant reason that Obama got elected. He is black, he knew what was dragging our country down, the people were desperate for change and he told the voters what they wanted to hear. Not necessarily what he believed in but what would get him elected. He has changed his mind and position on issues more times than they change diapers a maturity ward in a hospital.
I am stating the way it is not the way it should be.
Many women vote for a guy because he looks good in jeans, has blue eyes, a gorgeous smile and white teeth. Some men vote for a guy because he is a hunter, very manly and was a stud when he was a kid.
The demographics of the voter have changed dramatically over the years. A few years ago we didn’t have many, if any younger people voting or have a big population of minorities that were interested in politics.
Today it is a different ball game. More and more younger people are interested in politics and they will vote more or less with their hearts instead of their heads. They will vote for the person that they feel is or was the underdog and vote against a very successful person because they have been convinced that to be very wealthy is criminal. Wait until they get into the real world.
Minority people are going to vote for “their man” regardless of what his background or qualifications are. He could have “done time” as far as some of them are concerned. They want their voice heard. The way things are evolving in the USA today this country is going back to being ruled by the Spanish; not from Spain but American Spanish.
There are a lot of experts out there that believe that Romney selecting Ryan as his running mate is a shot in the arm for Obama and that is not a good thing.
Personally I don’t care if the person running for the top office in the country has three eyes, no teeth or whatever their sexual persuasions are. We need someone on Pennsylvania sitting in that big chair that is honest with the people, not a liar, loves this country, has the political qualifications and background, has the backbone and desire to get us out of quagmire we are in regardless of what it takes.
Lets face it; any good boss will tell you it is very hard to do their job the right way and still be popular.
Secondly, we need someone who can get the co-operation from the senate and congress he needs instead of all those guys with the suits constantly arguing and acting like a bunch of kindergartener in the playground at recess. It is all about them and not about the country.
That is one gigantic order that I doubt can be filled.
It surely isn’t the guy we have in their today. He has had 3 – 3/4 years to prove himself and has fallen flat on his face.
