Dempsey ‘disappointed’ by anti-Obama campaign by ex-military members:
The United States’ top military official criticized a group of former military and intelligence operatives for its aggressive campaign against President Obama, telling Fox News that he is “disappointed” by such political activity, which he called “not useful.”
It would really be interesting if it were legal and not against the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice) to bad mouth the president to see exactly what all of the military people have to say about their commander in chief. Being a former Marine I don’t have too much praise for the man.
Exactly what function did Obama execute when the Navy Seals sent Bin-Laden to visit the 40 virgins in Muslim Heaven? He gave them the nod to do what they do best and the Seals pulled it off like Ben Casey would have at the operating table; with surgical procession.
After the billions the USA spent on tracking down Bin-Laden and pin pointing his location what was Obama going to say; don’t kill him?
And by the way; did it change anything that Bib-Laden met with his demise? Absolutely not; it was just symbolic.
Now we have a group of ex-military people criticizing Obama for the fact that he is taking too much credit for the mission and justifiably so.
We all know it is political. Just like any other operation in the government. When it goes well; all we see on the tube is someone with their nose in the TV camera expounding on how good they are. When it goes the other way; we have to look under every bed in DC to find the person responsible. Than they always blame the PFC. I have never seen a general or a senior government official ever take the rap for anything that went wrong; it was always the grunts fault.
I am glad that these ex-military men are not subject to prosecution for their remarks. By now they would all be in Leavenworth on bread and water.
I would be willing to bet that General Dempsey would give the news media an ear full if he didn’t have those stars on his shoulders.
