The wealth of some of the people that represent us is staggering. That maybe one of the reasons they will not get off their fat butts to do what they were elected to do; make the tough decisions.

The range of wealth goes from 294 million that Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) is worth to the absolute piker; Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas) that is worth 6.41 million. I don’t know how Randy can show his face in public.

Don’t misunderstand me; I have the utmost respect for people that have taken the bull by the horns in life and make a ton of money.

What doesn’t sit very well with me is that these “high flyers” in DC do perform what they were elected to do and that is to make the tough decisions in their positions to move this country forward. They are too comfortable in their jobs and do not want to rock the boat or make waves for fear that they may get washed overboard. No one wants to be a Frank Serpico!

I have always said that people regardless of what their position is in the business world should get paid by their performance. If that was the case with most of the DC dwellers they would wind-up owning the government money.

It starts from the top down.

One of the biggest reasons some of these fat cats get into politics is for the “inside information” that is available to them. They have become very wealthy getting this inside information months and years before it becomes public.

“A freeway is going to be built there, maybe we should snap up some of that property while it is still cheap; what do you think senator”?
