Military widows must remarry to receive full benefits:

Through the years there have been some pretty idiotic laws written and enforced in the United States. By far this law is on the top of the list to get the Pulitzer Prize and the Academy Award for the people that wrote it.

The law requires any military widows over the age of 57 to remarry in order to continue to get their full benefits from the government. This can be compared to a law stating that after a divorced person gets remarried the ex-spouse has to continue paying the alimony.

Vivianne Wersel is appearing before congress to see if she can get this ridicules law stricken from the books. And yes, the Rhodes Scholars in DC are fighting her over it.

The lady does not wish to get married but if she doesn’t her benefits will stop.

There must be something to this law that a person with commonsense does see.
