Boxer Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho is brain dead, doctor says:

It is a very sad what it took to silence the flamboyant 50 year old Macho Camacho who was on the receiving end of a lot of shots to the head in his boxing career but he never took a shot of this magnitude; a gun shot in the head.

Hector was sitting in the passenger seat of a car in front of a bar in his native Puerto Rico where he was a considered a legend when two gunmen approached the car and opened fire.

Hector died as he lived on the edge in and out of the ring and in recent years was plagued with legal and drug issues.  

Although it has not yet been determined, it very well can be that this execution style shooting stemmed from a drug problem.

There is no doubt that The Macho Man was a great fighter but his antics in the ring turned most people off. He was a guy that was easy to dislike because of his egotistical attitude.

One thing for sure; love or hate him he was a great boxer and will be most remembered by his quick hands, outrageous outfits, grandiose personality and the curl in the middle of his forehead.

He had a very impressive career record of 79 –  6  – 3

By all appearances his is now going to take a ten count.
