Feds: Teachers embroiled in test-taking fraud:
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — It was a brazen and surprisingly long-lived scheme, authorities said, to help aspiring public school teachers cheat on the tests they must pass to prove they are qualified to lead their classrooms.
High school students cheating less, survey finds:
A new survey from the Josephson Institute of Ethics finds that the portion of high school students who admit to cheating, lying or stealing dropped in 2012 for the first time in a decade. The reasons aren’t totally known, but the results of the poll of 23,000 high school students give leaders of the Los Angeles-based non-profit organization hope.
Like the Cleveland guy with the spiked hair would say “Only in America”.
“One giant step forward for students and giant backward step for teachers”. Sounds like something a guy that landed on the moon would say.
The light at the end of the tunnel is; someday these students that don’t cheat will become teachers and won’t be cheating the way their cheating teachers are.
According to Webster:
Definition of teacher
: one that teaches; especially: one whose occupation is to instruct
Definition of a cheater:
: to deprive of something valuable by the use of deceit or fraud
: to influence or lead by deceit, trick, or artifice
: to elude or thwart by or as if by outwitting
intransitive verb
a: to practice fraud or trickery
b: to violate rules dishonestly
Maybe it should be part of the teacher’s curriculum to read Webster before they sit at the front of the class!!
