Let’s start passing out fishing rods

Among Blacks, Pride Is Mixed With Expectations for Obama:

Back to the clichcs; “god helps those who help themselves”.

In advance of today’s inauguration, interviews with experts and black leaders, say they have been disappointed by the slow pace of change for African-Americans, whose children, for instance, are still more likely to live in poverty than those of any other races.

Unless you live in a cave, it is not a big secret that the black race has some problems that need addressing, as well as other races.

The fact of the matter is, there has never been a time in history that the “advancement door” is wide open to all black people but it is up to them to go in.

We keep beating a dead horse but the horse is still dead. It is a shame what ever happened 250 years ago but that is history and can not be changed; the fact of the matter is; what happens tomorrow is the important issue.

There are laws that prohibit discrimination in the work place and discrimination in general. It against the law to discriminate against anyone for any reason, so if there is discrimination it should be dealt with..

For the most part, each person on this planet can control their own destiny if they work hard enough at it. What has happened in the past few years has enabled a distinct group of people, not black or white but all races to become used to living for free by accepting government subsidies. The government is the enabler.

There are people out there that genuinely need help and that is not the problem;  there is a very big percentage of people living off of  government subsidies that are free-loaders and scam artists. This is something the government should address and put a stop to.  I think it is so out of control they can no get a handle on it.

I can almost guarantee; if some of these people I am referring to were offered a job they would turn it down. This is a proven fact.

“Give a person a basket of fish and they will eat for a week; give that same person a fishing rod and they will eat for life”. That is proving they want to fish.

Because the government has made it so easy for some to live without working for it, we have created generation of people that do not know what the meaning of hard work means and don’t want to know.

This scenario didn’t happen overnight, it has perpetuated itself over the years and is only getting worse.

The name of the game is education in every faucet of life. When people are educated they tend to do the correct things that helps advance them-self. When a person is educated, they become good role models. When a person is a good role model they become great leaders, when they become great leaders their peers will follow their examples.

In recent interviews with experts and black leaders, some say they have been disappointed by the slow pace of change for African-Americans, whose children, for instance, are still more likely to live in poverty than those of any other race pattern, under the Obama administration.

That may be a fact but has anyone asked; why is it? They cannot complain about a situation if we keep making the same mistake time and time again. Recognize it, address it and then do something about it.

Society in general has not set a good examples for our younger generations to follow when we glamorize people like “the dude” Shawty Lo that thinks having 11 kids with 10 women is a badge of glory. He is one of thousands of bums that kids look up to because of all the attention they get and all the bling around their necks.

To make matters worse, we have a well-respected lady that OWN’s a TV network who pushing this trash TV  for the bucks. What message is this program sending to kids?

Do we want change?  Start setting good examples.

I can go on all day long talking about the black, white, brown, yellow races that have produced very poor excuses for role models.

Someone ask the question; why are Asian people per capita more successful in their lives then some other races? They are accustom to hard work and have a high regard for education.

I once saw a guy that kept sticking his finger in a candle flame and complain it was burning him. I gave him a very easy solution “pull your finger out of the flame”.

Life can be a lot easier if a person sincerely wants to work hard and be productive.

Take a look at where the USA stands in this world as far as scholastic goes.

In 2009 a study showed that a 15-year-old students in the U.S. performing about average in reading and science, and below average in math. Out of 34 countries, the U.S. ranked 14th in reading, 17th in science and 25th in math. These statistics are something  that the USA can be very proud of.

Quit sticking your finger in the flame and you won’t get burned!! Nobody ever said that life is supposed to be a free ride.

Just as a point of clarification for anyone doesn’t know it; the ambitions and accomplishments of a president should benefit and encompass all races. This is one occupation in the world where the leader should be totally color blind.
