NYC soda ban’s foes doubt rule’s racial fairness:

I have heard about racial discrimination on a bus, in restaurants, the work place, places of entertainment, politics and the entire spectrum of possibilities but a “soda” racial discrimination is hard to believe.

NEW YORK: Opponents of the city’s limit on the size of sugary drinks are raising questions of racial fairness alongside other complaints as the novel restriction faces a court test.

The issue is complex for the minority advocates. Does this mean they don’t understand what its purpose is; especially given obesity rates that are higher than average among blacks and Hispanics, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control.

The mayor is trying to save life’s. This way when he decides to retire or goes to the big Synagogue in the sky, the epitaph on his tomb stone can read “Here lies Michael Bloomberg; Mayor of New York City that saved the lives of 4 Hispanic people and 8 Black people and 1 Italian while he was in power by banning soft drinks 16 oz. and over”. “May he rest in peace”!

I really don’t agree with the billionaire mayor of the Big Apple on the city controlling what sizes sodas can be served in but to call it a racial issue is a little out there.

I think that Bloomberg’s intentions are good but to make a law that prohibits soda drinks larger than 16 ounces is non-sense. This horrendous violation could bring $200 fines; the city doesn’t plan to start imposing those until June. Some nuts cases that shoot up a bar when they are drunk get a lesser fine than that. Second offense will probably 6 months in solitary confinement.

From what I have ascertained by read the news, New York has a lot of a more severe issues to deal with  rather than worrying about their fat, over-weight citizens. I wonder what the tab on this “cleansing of the soda world” has cost the city so far?

Before you know it the mayor will only allow small pizzas, to be made with peperoni and cheese; disallowing sausage, hot peppers, anchovies or all the other goodies that make pizza so delicious.

To think a person cannot order a 16 oz. diet Coke of they wanted to, to wash down their pizza is unthinkable. What is this world coming too????

So for all the fat, out of shape people in New York; when you cannot resist any longer, get into your ride and ride over to Jersey and get the biggest soda drink you can find, guzzle it down without worrying about get arrested. You might as well get one to go for you fat brother.

By the way; this absolutely has nothing to do with racial discrimination; after all it was a Jewish guy that proposed the law.
