Lawyers for Catholic hospital argue that a fetus is not a (human) person:
What is it if it is not human; a monkey??
Canon City, Colorado (CNN) — Life begins at conception, according to the Catholic Church, but in a wrongful death suit in Colorado, a Catholic health care company has argued just the opposite.
A fetus is not legally a person until it is born, the hospital’s lawyers have claimed in its defense. And now it may be up to the state’s Supreme Court to decide.
What kind of hypocrites are these people that are letting this AM- BU- LANC – CHASING firm represent them and more importantly; what kind of Catholics are these people that they would let someone who is representing them make such a statement so contradictory to their beliefs??
As I have said hundreds of times before, “it is always about the money”.
Just for the sake of not looking completely duplicitous; if the Catholic religion was smart about this they would retract this statement and pay the fiddler. This foul ball statement may effect the pile in their collection baskets if they are not careful. Isn’t that what it is all about!
As the facts unfold; Lori Stodghill was 28 weeks pregnant when she went to the emergency room of St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City vomiting and short of breath, according to a court document. She went into cardiac arrest shortly after getting to the hospital.
She died at age 31. Her unborn twin boys perished with her.
The crux of the law suit by her husband Jeremy Stodghill claims that there was negligence on the part of the Catholic Hospital that caused the death of his wife and his unborn twins.
Definition of a hypocrite:
1 a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
