Facebook ‘Likes’ US Tax Code?

Facebook’s main kid Mark Zuckerberg said “I love this country. Mu company can make over a billion dollars in one year and Facebook does not have to pay any taxes”.

Despite earning over $1B in profits last year, Facebook paid $0 in federal and state taxes, and will get a refund totaling $429M, thanks to tax breaks.

The existing tax system we have in the USA is an insult to the guy that is standing behind a drill press in some sweatshop 12 hours a day trying to support his family and everyone else like him. Where is the fairness in this country?

I don’t blame the kid genius for availing his company of these tax breaks, I blame the US government for making it possible for people/corporations like him to have that option.

If our present tax system doesn’t change in the coming years, Facebook will continue to get monster tax breaks, totaling about $3 billion.

If situations like this are not a very good argument for a flat tax system; I don’t know what is?

I have said it time and time again; the people that are running our country into the ground are the same people that write the rule books and refuse to act on issues like this.

Believe it or not, the present tax system we are under and I mean under, is called “The Fair Tax” system. Is that a joke or not? Fair to whom?

A flat tax can be one of the defining solutions to the government’s financial dilemma but the bone heads in Washington will not budge because it would put the hammer on them and the rest of their wealthy contributors and friends. Everyone and every company would pay the same percentage of tax regardless of what they make. No shelters, no loop holes such as the one Facebook is taking advantage of.

If the Russians can make their economy work with a 13% flat tax why can’t the USA? Are our politicians more corrupt than their Russian counterparts? Let their actions or lack of speak for them-self.

It is mind-boggling the degree of corruption, backdoor dealing, good old boys clubs and total disrespect for the positions the politicians hold.

The Oath of Congress:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

The way I see it there are 5 items or terms that the good old boys forgot to read when they took their oaths.

Bear true faith; what a joke  – allegiance; to whom, themselves and their friends – freely; this is the only one they got right – mental reservations; by some of the decisions they make one would wonder –   faithfully discharge the duties; – give me a five minute break, I am choking on this one.

Those are some serious disapproval numbers. What is being done about it; nothing.

I will have to put a spin on the oath the politicians take when being sworn in and call it the “What is in it for me, how long before I make my first billion and how soon before I can retire Oath”. To me that sounds like it covers every base.
