Pope turned to God after snub by sweetheart Amalia Damonte:

It seems that everybody in this world wants their fifteen minutes of fame and to get their picture on the front page.

This old biddy took her shot at notoriety and got what just she wanted.

Francis 1st, AKA Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the man this week elected as the first Latin American pope, reportedly turned to religion after he was spurned by his childhood sweetheart when they were both just 12 years old.

According to 76-year-old Amalia Damonte, she and Pope Francis had a hot and heavy romance going at age 12 years old. It appears The Pope was madly in love with his 12 year old squeeze but she turned on the ice and nixed the future leader of the Roman Catholic religion. I guess she wasn’t ready to play house. Jorge told the stone cold would be lover, “If I can’t marry you, I’ll become a priest” “Luckily for him, I said no”, she joked.

Up until now there have not been any comments from the Vatican.

If Amalia is lying I hope she gets Francis 1st to hear her confession.
