If the truth hurts, so be it.
Jeff Daniels really hits the nail on the head in 3 ½ minutes.
Cut and past the website below and get an ear full of the truth. I wish it wasn’t true but they are the cold hard facts.

Even though it is obvious that the skit was rehearsed, it surly brings across a great message of which no one with any power seems to be listening to or cares about.
Just like the rise and the fall of the Roman Empire and it’s rulers, the USA has seen its day. Just like the law of gravity “whatever goes up must come down”.
Because of the greed and the arrogance of the people that ran or do run this country they think they are above the laws of the land and they are untouchable. Wrong! The day for settling up is coming and it will not be pretty.
There are taking down the USA brick at a time, so slowly that it is almost unnoticeable to the naked eye but believe me it is happening.
The decline of the USA didn’t start with the Obama or the Bush administrations; it slowly snuck up like a thief in the night because of mismanagement and special interest groups of the elected officials way back when and is enveloping our country little at a time.
One of many things that never crossed the minds of the DC duds was; “once you give something up it is almost impossible to get it back”. Their only concern was and still is to feather their nests and nests of their cronies.
No one with a half of a brain could look at the tax breaks and lobbying privileges given to “the special few” and honestly contend that they are the right thing to do for our country.
The following are some interesting fact that substantiate what I am saying.
When did America begin its ‘decadent’ decline? 4 theories:
Read these carefully and you will see the substance in them.
1. The outsourcing spree (1990s) “Americans’ addiction to entertainment,” be it sex scandals or reality TV, is our version of the “bread and circuses” that lulled underworked Romans into decline, says Alice Schroeder at Bloomberg News. And America’s debilitating “debauchery” is directly tied to the “draconian” outsourcing of manufacturing jobs that surged in the 1990s. We became a nation of servers, not makers. Sure, for a while we can use our dwindling paychecks to buy the cheaper TVs and laptops we import. But soon we’ll buy ourselves out of jobs, like the Romans did. Getting “sacked by Visigoths” won’t be far behind. “The danger of living on bread and circuses”
2. Bush v. Gore (2000) If America is broken, “I heard my first unmistakable crack a bit more than 10 years ago, when a colossally corrupt U.S. Supreme Court” threw the 2000 election to George W. Bush in an “ineffably dimwitted” ruling, says P.M. Carpenter at his blog. U.S. elections have been stolen before, but this particular chicanery ushered in eight years of lawlessness, self-destructive military adventures, torture, horrific and costly financial recklessness, and other awful transgressions. We long ago hit our “point of no return,” and I’m really “supposed to be upset by Anthony Weiner’s cyberboners?” “Deciding our point of no return”
3. The last Bush years (2006-2008) I can’t pin down the exact moment when we became “late imperial Rome,” says Andrew Sullivan at The Daily Beast. But to me it came at some point between “Congress’ assent to torture in 2006” — when we abandoned so many of our long-valued principles — and “when Sarah Palin was selected as a serious vice-presidential nominee in 2008.” It’s been downhill ever since.
4. The Great Recession (2008) There are lots of reasons “America in 2011 is Rome in 200 AD or Britain on the eve of the first world war” — in other words, an “empire at the zenith of its power but with cracks beginning to show,” says Larry Elliott at The Guardian. Most of them have to do with money or America’s “advanced state of cultural decadence.” Or both, as with the main cause of America’s slow collapse: The housing boom, and the subsequent spectacular bust. As previous empires show, “it is hard to stop the rot once it has set in,” and China’s already gunning to be the next great empire. “Decline and fall of the American empire”
These are just some of the debacles that began to catapult the USA into self-destruction.
At one time I thought that the financial stability of our country was salvageable but the greed in politics and in big business are gobbling the little guys up and devastating the USA.
The little guys are the backbone of the country. It is on their backs, hard work and sweat that accounted for the billionaires success. Just like in any business or corporation; the workers are the backbone of the company. Without the little guys there would be no big guys. Not many of he big wigs like to admit it. The little guys are the ones that get hurt the most.
I guess the answer is not in the voting booth as the cliché used to imply. With the present administration entrenched for another 4 years and the deficit escalating toward 20 trillion dollars at the end of Obama’s term, the outlook is very grim.
One of these days all of our creditors are going to be knocking on the White House door wanting to get paid but no one is home; they are out squandering the country’s money, buying our friendship all over the world instead of trying to correct our dilemma.
WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL OF THOSE CAMPAIGN PROMISES FOLKS???????
