Good-bye to the last of the Bad Guys / adieu à la dernière des méchants :
CNN) — The death of James Gandolfini, best known for his role as an anxiety-ridden mob boss on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” on Wednesday affected many in Hollywood and beyond. Friends and colleagues tweeted and made statements after hearing news of the actor’s death.
Another in the very long list of great Italian actors, James Gandolfini lived by the same rules he acted in; hard and fast. He like many other celebs including Jackie “The King” Gleason lived large and died even larger.
There is a rumor spreading Italy around that Tony was wolfing down a giant Capocollo sandwich and washing it down with some expensive Chianti when he began choking which resulted in giving him a heart attack; a stroke followed that finally put the hammer on the last of the bad boys.
This stuff is delicious but the fat will get you every-time.
James and all of the other actors in the series played fantastic roles which drew millions of the viewers once a week for 8 years into their living rooms to see what the Goomba’s would come up with next. Which one of them was going to sleep with the fish??
It is unfortunate that in the prime of his life he had to go to the big Pasta Fagoli bowl in the sky. He had a lot of good years left in him. He will be missed by many people.
Gandolfini will probably go down in Hollywood as one of the best characters in this type of genre and had quiet of a history in the entertainment business but really was at his all time high point playing Tony Soprano.
