Motorcyclist killed in 285 mph crash in Maine:
Live by the throttle and die by the throttle!
LIMESTONE, Maine – A motorcycle racer trying to top 300 mph died Sunday after losing control and zooming off a runway at a former air base in northern Maine.
About 400 spectators watched as “Wild Bill” Warner, 44, of Wimauma, Fla. flew down the runway at 285 mph, trying to get over 300 miles per hour; before he lost control of his souped up racing bike and we know the rest of the story. There are not many whole pieces and parts left intact when someone cracks up at that speed.
Riding his modified turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa in 2011 , Warner previously hit 311 mph using 1.5 miles of pavement to accomplish this record breaking bike ride.
Bill was admired for all of his bravery, showmanship and the rest of his accomplishments in the motor cycle racing world and will be truly missed by his family and all of his fans.
