Marley Lion 17 year old shot and killed when unarmed by a 30 year old black man in Charleston, SC on 6/16/2012
At about 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, officers responded to a shots fired call in the Ardmore subdivision in the Yew Street area. A teen was found laying on the ground outside his vehicle in the Famous Joe’s Bar & Grill parking lot located at 1662 Savannah Highway. That teen was identified as recent Academic Magnet graduate Marley Lion.
Officials say that Lion pulled into a parking lot to get some sleep after a party. He was shot not long after making a bed in his SUV in what investigators believe was an attempted robbery.
It seems very suspect to me that this murder of a 17 year old white kid did not even make the headlines in the news. This was sent to me by a friend of mine (SO) or else I would not have known anything about it.
The USA is supposed to be striving toward being an impartial and fair country to live in; one reason Obama was elected but it is apparent that in recent years it is more one sided where race is an issue.
I can’t really say that the government done very little if anything to promote harmony among the races. There are a few people in high places that keep throwing gasoline on the fire. This was supposed to be one of their primary responsibility when they got elected.
To some narrow minded peoples way of rationalizing things, they believe only white people can be prejudice. Absolutely wrong; it goes both ways.
If we want to compare apples to apples this news worthy story should have received four times the “ink” that the Martin – Zimmerman case got because there were four black men that were involved in killing this one young white kid; that didn’t happen.
One of the conditions that have changed in the last few years is; when there is a white aggressor against black victim issue to be resolved, the black community bans together and demonstrates; sometime it is peaceful and other times not. Read the news.
When the situation is reversed and there is a black perpetrator and a white victim it is barely noticed because most of the white people are intimidate by the blacks and are afraid to demonstrate.
There is one other overwhelming condition that exists between races. There are many white sympathizers for the black community but very few if any black sympathizers for the whites.
I really don’t think that the relationship between the two races is ever going to get closure until the intermingling between them takes over completely and there is only one race.
These are the people charged with the murder:
Ryan Deleston – Bryan Rivers – Julius Brown were all charged with murder and various other charges related to the crime.
George Brown was charged accessory after the fact.
A few years back it was the black community that was looking for equality; now it appears that the roles are reversed when it come to the news media.
Be objective guy and gals (news media) and tell the story the way it should be told.
