Wisconsin teachers union de-certified in latest blow to labor under Walker law:
It is a shame that a large majority of the cities and states in our country are trying to “rub-out” the unions.
Most people really don’t understand; if wasn’t for the unions setting the bar for fair wages and benefits, the working man’s way of life would have never been elevated as high as it is now. The non-union workers benefited as much from the unions as the union workers did.
It is just like the US auto industry. If it wasn’t for the Japanese bringing their superior built cars across the pond 30 years ago the USA, the auto industry would have still been screwing the public with their substandard cars. The US auto makers were force to advance and improve their products to stay up with the competition or go out of business.
Same thing applies to the unions. With their inception; unions were instituted to make sure the working man did not get steam-rolled by the establishment with low wages, no benefits and poor working conditions. As a result, all of the non-union industries and businesses had to advance their benefits and working conditions to attract workers.
Now that Jesse James and his crew cleared out all of the bandits out of Dodge City, he usefulness has been terminated.
I will agree that through the years the unions got too powerful and they began dictating to the establishment how to run their business but just like anything else in our society; compromise is hard to come by. We all live in a winner take all culture and that is not a good thing.
This elimination of unions deals a very severe blow to all of the union workers that survive on their pension plans. I think that the government should step in and help some of its citizens instead of pissing away trillions on countries that are a worthless cause.
