It looks to me like the Scrooges in the USA are recognized on the wrong holiday.

Usually Scrooge and his clones are acknowledged on Christmas as being very cheap and all about money. This Thanksgiving there are more and more of the money hungry, gold diggers coming out of the woodwork. The companies that think they don’t make enough cash 364 days a year, are so greedy for the big buck that they refuse to close the cash register for one day a year and give their employees a well-deserved day off.

I hope all of the people are working get at least time and a half for their inconvenience but I wouldn’t bet on it.

One example is Pizza Hut that asked their employee Tony Rohr that has worked at the franchise in Elkhart, Indiana, for more than 10 years to resign because he refused to work on “Gobbler Day”.

After the story hit the wires the people at Pizza Hut headquarters told the franchise to rehire Tony. I guess that really burned their crust.

Who the hell wants to eat pizza on Turkey Day anyway?

While the big wig “Turkeys” are home with their families enjoying their dinners that was made possible for them because of all the hard working people; they will not extend the same courtesy to their workers for one day a year.

Of all the holidays we celebrate in the USA, Thanksgiving is the only one that makes any sense to me; the rest of them all revolve around buying some sort of gifts. It is the only holiday that corporate America hasn’t thought of an angle on how to get the public to part with their money, so they stay open on Thanksgiving.

Pizza Hut is not the only greedy scroogeoligist in the country, there is quite an extensive list.

Bah Hum Bug to all of you Scrogges!!!! You should be giving your loyal employees the day off with pay.
