I was watching Fox News this morning and I saw a guy on the program from an organization called Troops Direct.
The organization he founded was to help our troops overseas get some of the basic necessities they need for everyday use such as: hydrating drink powder – stretchers, stethoscopes, syringes and gauze – nutritional supplements, energy bars and protein powder – cases of chalk powder for marking mines – packets of body wash & tubes of toothpaste – socks – gloves and armored jackets.
“Our troops don’t have adequate socks, gloves and body armor?” – Does anyone see anything wrong with this very sad picture?” Next thing they will do is issue sling shots and stones.”
Is it hard to believe that OUR TROOPS, the people that are putting their lives on the line everyday in places they don’t belong, sent there by their own government but don’t have the basic provisions they need for everyday health care and survival? Yet the United States Government can spend hundreds of billions of dollars giving money to countries that are our distinct enemies, trying to buy friendship around the world.
As I have said so many times before, the politicians in DC should hang their heads in shame but they won’t.
Our troops and their needs should be the country’s top priority.
Troops Direct is a great organization that is helping to pick up the ball that the government has dropped to try and make the service-people’s lives a little easier, more comfortable and safer.
