Olympic Fears Rattle Athletes and Families:
I say that Putin is going to have a big flop on his hands.
So far he has spent the equivalent of 59 billion dollars and hasn’t sold one bratwurst sandwich or one glass of vodka yet.
It is not unusual that a great percentage of people that were considering attending the 2014 Olympics, including some athletes are considering take a “bomb check” instead of a rain check and calling it a day. I can’t really say I blame them.
There absolutely will be some terrorists’ attacks in and around the games but Putin and company do not know for sure where they will be. That gives the upper hand to the bad guys. Remember what I said about drones.
A quote from an American hockey players father:
“It’s getting to the point where our lives are on the line if we go there,” said Tim Oshie, whose son, T. J., is on the United States hockey team. “They’re talking about terrorizing families. I’d rather stay in the homeland.”
There is an old saying that is very apropos in this case; “those who smile and walk away live to see another day”.
