Obama to use executive power to raise minimum wage for federal contractors:
President Obama, in the first of potentially many executive actions tied to his State of the Union address, will unilaterally increase the minimum wage for workers under new federal contracts to $10.10 an hour, from $7.25, in an effort to build momentum for a minimum wage hike for all Americans.
Today is a good day and a rare day that I am going to give Mr. O two thumbs up. I hope I can compliment him more often.
Although I don’t condone the “executive power” authority the president has, I will compliment him for looking out for the working man by raising the minimum wage.
His next endeavor should be to try and keep the cost of living in line so the consumers can feel the effects of the pay hike.
That being said Obama should try an entice some of the manufacturing companies back to the USA that were so much a part the backbone of the USA’s economy.
Give them tax breaks and incentives to create jobs – jobs make money – people spend money – people pay taxes – government gets money and hopefully puts money to good use instead of giving it all away to foreigners that view the USA as a philanthropically organization or a sucker. It is a pretty easy formula.
Mr. O; if you need help I am available. I must forewarn you, I am not a politician.
