Minn. teen gets 10 years for fatal “knock-out game” punch:
Just another travesty of justice; 10 years for killing someone.
Another lenient, bleeding heart judge sentenced 18-year-old Jesse “The tough guy” Smithers to 10 years on Thursday.
Smithers admitted delivering a deadly punch in a St. Cloud alley almost a year and a half ago, when on Sept. 21, 2012, Colton Gleason was walking with friends when a car pulled up, and Smithers got out and punched him; just for something to do.
Unless these pacifist, sympathetic, paid off judges get off their pompous judicial asses and start handing down sentences that appropriately fit the crimes, punks like this kid and “affluenza” will never get the message; “thou shall not kill.” The judges are not sending out the right message to all of the other junior criminals in this country.
Sentences like this are a big insult to the person that was killed and a disservice to their surviving family members that have to live with the death of a loved one for the rest of their lives.
I hope Bubba and his crew are waiting at the main gate of the prison to show Jesse “the coward” just how tough he is.
