JPMorgan whistleblower gets $63.9 million in mortgage fraud accord:
What do you mean it doesn’t pay to be a fink, whistle-blower, tattle-tale or a dime dropper; I guess it all depends on who you rat on and how much they are worth. In this case the guy hit the ball out of the park.
A whistleblower Keith Edwards will be paid $63.9 million for dropping the dime or was it a dollar he dropped that led to JPMorgan Chase having to pay a $614 million fine because they defrauded the government by insuring flawed home loans.
The payment to the whistleblower, Keith Edwards was disclosed in a filing on Friday with the U.S. district court in Manhattan that formally ended the case.
It is no wonder Eddy (sounds better for a rat) “the rat” is getting that much of a kick back from the government they was seeking $2.1 billion of penalties in that case.
JPMorgan admitted that for more than a decade they have been screwing the government by submitted thousands of mortgages that did not qualify for government guarantees.
Something the good citizens of the USA do not consider; when the US government gets ripped off it comes out of their pockets. Essentially we are paying to support all of the high rolling crooks out there until they get caught, after they get caught, pay for their trial and pay when the hoodlums get sent to the cross bar hotel.
The government said it ultimately had to cover millions of dollars of losses after some of the bank’s loans went sour, resulting in evictions and foreclosures nationwide.
David Wasinger, the ambulance chaser for Eddy, did not immediately respond on Friday to requests for comment. That is a first; an attorney that was at a loss for words. Maybe he became speech-less when he heard of his big pay day; usually “the mouth-piece” usually get 33% of what the judgment is. Not a bad payday for a few months’ work.
