It is always about the money

It is ALWAYS about the money!!

There was a memo that circulated among the “Big Wigs” at GM in 2001 about a faulty ignition switch that cost pennies to fix but they decided to push it under the rug.

Morning Money Memo…

In 2001 General Motors AKA “Greedy Mother” knew about faulty ignition switches on compact cars. GM now says it received reports as early as 2001 – three years earlier than previous disclosed. The safety defect has been linked to at least 12 deaths and more than 30 crashes. The company, which is facing federal investigations over the delay, recalled 1.6 million cars with the ignitions last month.

It sounds like a movie I saw years ago about a car manufacturer that found a major malfunction with one of the cars that was causing multiple deaths and injuries.

The money hungry top dogs in the company figured that it would cost about 10 million dollars to recall all the defective vehicles to repair them. If they ignored the problem they could make 20 million and be 10 million ahead so they took door # 2.

It seems that greed is the trend in big business that care more about the mighty dollar than for the safety and well-being of its customers.
