Obama Administration Cites ‘National Security’ More Than Ever To Censor, Deny Records:
Is it ALL really a matter of National Security or the obstinacy of the Obama administration to co-operate with the American people and the news media? This time I will take 15% of door # 1 and 85% of door # 2.
JFK made a very appropriate statement when he was in office that I thing applies in today’s politics; “It is my football and you are going to play the game my way”.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration more often than ever censored government files or outright denied access to them last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.
There has been more clandestine activities with Obama and his crew than any other president in history.
I cannot even count the number of the times one of Mr. O’s flunkies have been in the hot seat before congress and pleaded the 5th amendment or use the excuses -I can’t remember – this information is covered under the executive privilege. They have been downright defiant in their refusal to divulge any information in a multitude of different scenarios.
If a person has nothing to hide why do they plead the 5th?
One of the many terms that Obama used in his campaigns to get elected was “transparency”. I don’t think Obama asked Mr. Webster what the definition of the word meant or how to apply it.
History has proven that a person running for political office will make any promise they can dream up just to get into office without any intention of keeping it.
In category after category — except for reducing numbers of old requests and a slight increase in how often it waived copying fees — the government’s efforts to be more open about its activities last year were their worst since President Barack Obama took office.
In the last year the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs, the government cited national security to withhold information a record 8,496 times — a 57 percent increase over a year earlier and more than double Obama’s first year, when it cited that reason 3,658 times.
I will agree to a certain degree that the world situation has become more intense and complex than ever but the lack of cooperation from the administration goes far and beyond what is necessary.
In a nut shell, the laws that apply to the average citizen do not apply to the crooks in DC “District of Chumps”. I can see the average citizen sitting in court or before congress and pleading the 5th amendment 35 times and refusing to answer any questions. They would be held in contempt of court and lead away in handcuffs. When their boss has their back who can force them to testify?
Politics is a very dirty game they are playing and seem to be winning it.
