Tigers Agree To Pay Miguel Cabrera A Record-Breaking $292 Million Over 10 Years:
CAPTION: You dummies are paying my tab.
Get ready to pay a lot more for pop corn, beer and hot dogs in D-troit, the price of poker just went up dramatically.
I know it is coming out of different pockets but it seems ironic to me that a city that is “in the tank” can afford to pay some jock for hitting a baseball around the park to the tune of 292 million schadalls over 10 years.
Does anyone but me see the disparity in what some athletes are paid and how other people are starving? It is totally out of wack. Quoting the TV show, it is a case of “The haves and the have nots’.”
I don’t know if the fans ever stop to realize that essentially they are the ones paying these gigantic salaries are getting gouged more and more each year to support the owners extravagant spending.
It can cost a family of 4 people about 300.00 to go to a major league game and I am not sure that covers the parking.
Many of the players had their asses hanging out of a window in South America a year ago and now they are making millions a year. Most of them do not have the financial skills or common sense to handle it.
I don’t blame the athletes for making that kind of money I blame the owners for paying it.
First of all; I say that all athletes should be paid a base salary and then paid based on their performance. Guaranteed the fans would see a much different attitude among the players and better games.
Quite a few of them do not know how to handle their instant success and either blow it on broads, cars, bad investments, newly found entourages, CROOKED AGENTS who are sometimes ambulance chasers or stick it up their nose. Not many of the athletes are set for life when they decide to hang up the spikes.
Let’s hope for Miguel Cabrera he is one of the smarter ones.
