Ukraine PM warns on ‘huge possibility’ of Russian invasion amid troop buildup:
There are a couple of reasons why Putin is flexing his muscles. Number one because he can and two there is no one to stop him in that part of the world.
Recently he has been putting on the biggest performances of his political career/life, first with the Olympics and now he wants to continue on this ego trip by demonstrating to the world that he is a force to be reckoned with.
Ego maniacs constantly feel the need to show their stuff and get great satisfaction out of the results they get from outside forces. It can be considered a case of “extreme bullying.”
Don’t forget, many of these people like Putin do what they do to get their names in the history books even if it is adversely.
Wikipedia:
Egomania is obsessive preoccupation with one’s self and applies to someone who follows their own ungoverned impulses and is possessed by delusions of personal greatness and feels a lack of appreciation.
It seems hard to believe that these type of people need constant reassurance to bolster their self-worth.
I have a strong suspicion that Putin is going to go only so far than back off after he has made his statement. There is no way that he is going to go against the entire world with his latest maneuvers.
Up until now there has been little to no violence connected with his activities, just a show of force. Only time will tell.
I know one thing for sure; the more people he has telling him to back off the more it is bolstering his ego. He is like a masochistic person that thrives on pain and criticism; he likes it!
Putin is one hardened, well rounded adversary that has a need to make a statement. I think he is well aware of the fact that there is no country that is going to challenge him on the battle field and create a world wide catastrophe and he is playing it to the hilt.
