Measure twice and cut once

ABC News

Ford Recalls Nearly 435,000 Vehicles:

There seems to be an epidemic of faulty cars that are being recalled by some of the big boys lately. It has to be costing them a pile of money; not to mention the injuries and deaths that are a result of the defective cars.

The following is a list of the 10 largest recalls in history:

MAKE                            YEAR VEHICLES                                      RECALLED
GM                                        2004                                                        3.6 million
VW                                        1972                                                         3.7 million
HONDA                                1972                                                        3.7 million
GM                                        1970                                                        3.1 million
FORD                                   1972                                                        4.0 million
GM                                       1971                                                          5.82 million
TOYOTA                             1972                                                         6.67 million
GM                                      1971                                                          6.7 million
FORD                                 1996                                                         7.9 million
Grand-daddy of them all goes to Ford
FORD                               2009                                                         14 million

If I had 1.00 for each of these cars that was recalled I wouldn’t be sitting here blogging all day. It would come to $59,190.000.00

There is an old saying in the construction business. “Measure twice and cut once.”

I would highly recommend that these and other manufacturers blow up this sign and put it where all of the employees can see it. Make this slogan their credo; it would save them a lot of money, time and embarrassment.
