The protocol door should swing both ways

Key agency endorses drug sentence change, but scolds Holder for jumping gun:

The U.S. Sentencing Commission on Thursday endorsed shorter federal prison sentences for most drug dealers — but not before members of the agency scolded Attorney General Eric Holder for unilaterally pushing those changes weeks earlier.

“That unprecedented instruction disrespected our statutory role,” said Judge William H. Pryor Jr., who sits on the commission.

“The law provides the executive no authority to establish national sentencing policies based on speculation about how we and Congress might vote on a proposed amendment,” Pryor said.

In a movie I saw Alec Baldwin in he said, “I am God!”

What were Holder’s comments yesterday about disrespecting the offices of the government?

“Forget about me [specifically]. Look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated yesterday by a House committee,” Holder told the crowd. “What attorney general has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment? What president has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment?”

What about Holder’s lack of respect for other offices? We need a little consistency in political office.

Remember when pointing the finger; there are three pointing back at you.
