Casinos’ do not like smart gamblers
Should what Phil Ivy did be a matter of being a smart player or is it cheating? I say a smart player.
Phil Ivey, one of the world’s top poker players, is being sued by the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, N.J. The casino accuses the poker star of noticing a defect in the cards being played during a baccarat session and parlaying that into a $9.6 million haul back in 2012, per Gillian Mohney of ABC’s
Regardless of what the casinos’ want the public to believe the “House” ALWAYS wants the advantage and always wants to win.
They use many enticing tactics to get people in the doors, such as free buffets, free money, free trips, free rooms, free booze and sometimes the even throw a little free poon tang.
The casinos’ use a very well devised system they contrived where 98% of all bets are in the houses favor. They are not building these behemoths all over the world on charity.
There have been many incident where someone got extremely lucky or were smarter than the casino and taking them to the cleaners when the casino asked to leave the premises.
There was a true life story movie made called 21 starring Kevin Spacey, Brett Ratner, Dana Brunetti and Michael DeLuca about some college kids that learned how to count cards in Black Jack and they were making a fortune. This was until the casinos’ caught on to there strategy and barred them from playing.
Were they cheating? Absolutely not; they were just smarter than the casinos’.
If Phil Ivy’s case goes before a jury, I will bet that they will find him not guilty and that his only crime was that he was smarter than the casino.
Keep sticking them Phil.
