Confucius say

With all of the insanity going on in the world these days we all need a little something to laugh about.  I thought something on the lighter side to blog about today would be a good change.

It is funny but in a morbid sort of a way because it almost killed this China-Man.

We have all heard of the cliches, timing is everything – today wasn’t my day – or being at the wrong place at the wrong time?

Well 57-year-old Xiao Yunzhi is living proof of true meaning of all three of these old sayings.

Xiao was taking his daily stroll in his home town of Guangyuan, Sichuan, China when he started to feel dizzy and a lot of pressure it the top of his head. Initially he ignored the sensation and kept walking.

As Xiao walked by a tobacco shop he observed the tobacconist who was standing outside stared at him in an odd and horrifying manner and pointed to the top of his head. Only then did he realize that there was something drastically wrong.

Xiao reached up, felt the top of his head and almost passed out with fright. All he could feel was a lot of blood and something sticking out of his head. He then collapsed on the sidewalk.

It appears that while Xiao was going for his morning walk and was passing a high-rise apartment building, a five-inch kitchen knife that was sitting on a window ledge on the 8th floor was accidentally bumped, fell straight down blade first and stuck in the left side of his head all the way to the handle and barley missing his brain.

An ambulance was called and rushed the injured and very un-lucky/ lucky man to the hospital.

“It was terrifying to see,” said his younger sister, who only identified herself as Miss Xiao. “The knife handle was sticking out of the top of my brother’s head.”

Xiao realizes he was a very fortunate man to be alive. He is considering buying a steel helmet that he will wear in all of his future walks.

Was it the greatest coincident in the world or what? The night before Xiao went to his favorite Chinese eatery. After his dinner when his bill came he opened the fortune cookie and it said “Confucius say man who walk under apartment building without a helmet on may have a steak knife may fall from the 8th floor and stick in head”.

Needless to say Xiao didn’t heed the words of wisdom of the cookie and the great Chinese philosopher.
