Al Sharpton Says He’s Helping The White House Pick The Next Attorney General:
All Sharpton needs is a platform and a microphone and he is as comfortable as Brer Rabbit being thrown into his briar patch.
This one bold dude to come out publicly assuming that he can influence Obama on who he should appoint as the new attorney general to replace Holder. I wonder perhaps if it is a relative, one of his cronies or someone that he owes money to.
The Rev. Al Sharpton said his civil rights organization, the National Action Network, is “engaged in immediate conversations” with the White House as they work to name a successor to Attorney General Eric Holder, who is set to announce his resignation Thursday afternoon.
“We are engaged in immediate conversations with the White House on deliberations over a successor whom we hope will continue in the general direction of Attorney General Holder,” Sharpton said in a statement.
Sharpton praised Holder, the first African-American attorney general, as the “best” one in history when it comes to civil rights.” Naturally, I wouldn’t expect anything less from him.
“The resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder is met with both pride and disappointment by the Civil Rights community,” he said. “We are proud that he has been the best Attorney General on Civil Rights in U.S. history and disappointed because he leaves at a critical time when we need his continued diligence most.”
The only possible reason Sharpton would recommend anyone for the AG’s office is if it could benefit him personally.
If Obama does lend his ear to Sharpton I think he is doing himself a great injustice.
Sharpton is nothing but an opportunist and an instigator who keeps his people pissed off so they keep donating to his causes. There has never been one conversation I have heard where Sharpton tells the young black kids that the way to success is through education not violence.
If he ever promoted the educational route with his people, I would be the first one to acknowledge it.
Take a look at Al’s background and see if he is the caliber of person Obama should be taking advice from or even rubbing shoulders with. You can be the judge.
