Marriott must pay $600,000 for blocking personal Wi-Fi hotspots:

The government put a very minor dent in the bank account of the greedy hotel giant Marriott Corp by fining them for blocking Wi-Fi access to their customers.

I often wondered what happens to all of the money the government collect with the fines they receive from lawsuits. Probably goes into the “general fund” and we all know what that means.

Possibly Marriott doesn’t think they have enough money. They have to resort to shaking down their customers by jamming the signal for free Wi Fi so their guests are forced to pay for an internet connection, sometimes as much as $1,000.oo a pop. Blatant case of corporate robbery.

Richard Marriott who is heading the empires operations personal wealth is worth about 2.3 billion dollars. The company itself is worth in the neighborhood of 44.9 billion. I can see why these poor people are forced into being thieves; they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

The travelers that frequent the Marriott should ban together and boycott the miserly company for a couple of years to get Richie and crew back to reality and teach them not bite the hands that feed them.

Naturally just like everyone that gets caught with their hands in the cookie jar, Marriott and its ambulance chasers on Friday defended the practice of jamming guests’ Wi-Fi networks.

“Marriott has a strong interest in ensuring that when our guests use our Wi-Fi service, they will be protected from rogue wireless hotspots that can cause degraded service, insidious cyber-attacks and identity theft.”

They are just greedy. Like many of the wealthier companies and individuals; they are not satisfied with a piece of the pie, they want the whole thing.
