Mandatory minimum sentencing: Injustice served?
Lee Wollard was trying to save his daughter from a beating or possibly getting killed from her out of control boyfriend but Lee wound up as the victim of the judicial system in the State of Florida.
Wollard fired a warning shot into the wall of his home to get the “women beater” off of his daughter when he would not release her. The judge in the case was forced to sentence him to 20 years in a Florida state prison with no chance of parole.
The judge actually apologize to Wollard for the unfair sentence but he said he was bound by law to impose it.
When are the judicial systems in this country going to unify and have the same penalties for the same crime?
I some states a person can blow a person’s head off if he feels there is a threat to his life but in this case Lee Wollard fired a shot over a guy’s head and got 20 years for it.
Maybe he should have killed the guy and the penalty would have not been as severe.
The jury must have been smoking some of that Florida weed!

There are so many gray areas in the law where a person can bet the rap depending on who their daddy is, how much money they have or if the can buy their way out of a crime. It happens everyday.
Being that the supreme court justices are “not too busy” these days; I think that they should take the time to look into unjust cases like this to make sure justice was served fairly. That is if they be taken away from their naps.
Should there be an age limit set on how old a justice can be to serve on the bench, still be coherent or effective at their positions? I say yes. Try 65 years old.
Where is the justice?
