Prison Time for Former Trooper Who Stole From Dying Crash Victim:
This is the Oath Police Officer’s take before they are given their badge.
“On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character or the public trust. I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions. I will always uphold the Constitution, my community, and the agency I serve.”
It looks to me like this guy fell short of all of them.
Trooper Arron Huntsman’s own Dashcam video is sending the thief to the cross bar hotel for one year for stealing valuables from the body of John Scalesse who was killed in a crash on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield on Sept. 22, 2012. He got a five year sentence but had it reduced to one year for co-operating. His uncle must have known the judge.
A smart thief would have had enough sense to turn off the video recorder when he was “rolling” the dead guy. Smart was the key word here.
This most probably isn’t the first time Huntsman made a “five finger discount” while in the line of duty. I would never suspect a guy with the name like Arron to be a thief. Can’t always tell a book by its title.
This was not just a nickel and dime theft the cop pulled off. Scalesse’s family members reported a gold chain valued at more than $5,000, along with $3,700 in cash and missing clothing which sparked the investigation. Mr. Scalesse didn’t travel light.
Huntsman probably figure in his thieving mind that the dead guy didn’t need money or jewelry anymore.
Where this crooked cop is going he won’t be needing them either. There is a very good chance that he is going to run across some people that he threw in the slams that want to even the score. He better see if he could steal some brass knuckles from some dead gang banger before his trip.
Morning TD – hope you are enjoying the GG with your morning java. Say hello to D for me.
